About the Host: Audrey Sato, AIA, LEED-AP
I am the principal architect at Sato Architects and a lecturer at Cal Poly Pomona. I started this podcast out of a curiosity to hear more stories about women succeeding and leading in architecture. Running my small practice, I often felt isolated from and in awe of the community of female architects. I wanted to hear their stories, and I knew I couldn’t possibly be alone. Reading studies about the continuing inequities in architecture, I felt inspired to pursue this podcast. I know architects are busy people, and I wanted to provide an easily consumable, portable resource for our community to connect, be inspired, and learn from each other. This podcast project was made possible by the Association for Women in Architecture Foundation (a sister organization to the AWA+D) through the 2017 Association for Women in Architecture Foundation Professional Development Fellowship.
